The Dow Chemical Company
Senior Manufacturing CyberSecurity Specialist
Randy has over 30 years of experience in networks, industrial control systems, and Cyber Security.  With corporate computer networking on a local and global basis as the launch point of Randy’s career at The Dow Chemical Company in 1985, Cyber Security has been a career long study with evolving characteristics and increasing importance.  As the lead network developer for the proprietary process control networks leveraged inside of The Dow Chemical Company preceding the transition to commercial off-the-shelf components leveraged in Industrial Process Control, the tenets of predictable and autonomous control were embraced.  The transition to commercial process automation systems traded the problems and benefits related to isolation of the process control networks for the problems and benefits associated with connectedness of those network to the business networks.
Since 2006, Randy has devoted his energies to being a leader in the advancements of Manufacturing CyberSecurity within The Dow Chemical Company.  A small but growing team has developed the policies, standards, guidelines, and solutions that maintains a sustainable manufacturing environment as connectivity improvements are realized.  This large and diverse global environment shaped by internal evolution as well as merger and acquisition activity and having proprietary as well as numerous commercially available automation platforms has provided a breadth of opportunity and challenges, both technical and non-technical.

Randy holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
